A simpler way to find good toys and gifts

Clever Little Things started with a simple idea: choosing toys and gifts for children shouldn’t feel like hard work.

There’s so much out there, and it can be difficult to know which toys are genuinely good. We do some of the searching and comparing, then narrow it down to a smaller selection.

We look for toys and gifts that are fun to play with, well made and worth coming back to. Things that give children room to imagine, create, explore, build and play in their own way.

You’ll find products from a mix of brands here, with a few clever little things of our own to come.

A little about me

Hi, I’m Adelah, the one who chooses every toy in the shop, and a parent too.

I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit scrolling through endless options, comparing toys and wondering what was actually worth buying. Clever Little Things grew from wanting to make that process a bit easier.

When I’m choosing what to stock, I ask many of the same questions I ask when buying for my own family. Will it really get played with? Is there something interesting about it? Will it help them build new skills, simply by playing? Would I be happy to give it to a child I care about?

Why we choose what we choose

We don’t believe every toy needs to teach a lesson or come with a long list of developmental claims. Sometimes a good toy is simply one a child wants to pick up and play with.

So we look beyond what it says on the box. We consider how children might really play with it, whether there’s more than one way to use it and whether it will hold their interest.

Safety matters too. We check age guidance, materials and finishes before anything makes it into the shop, and we choose brands we trust.
